In Remembrance of May, 30, 1921...

With hundreds killed and many businesses burned to the ground, Tulsa suffered majorly on Greenwood avenue. WD Williams, was 16 at the time of the massacre and shares his memory on being separated from his parents and being terrified. There were so many children being separated and watching the people that they knew being killed on the street. The deceased being thrown into a pile while the rest being sent into consignment camps. The white mobs, thought that they would destroy the spirit of Greenwood avenue but to this day it is growing and rebuilding what it use to be.

You can visit Tulsa, OK and understand the history that many have not forgotten while also still remembering the ones that were lost on the day of May 30, 1921. Today we will remember, tomorrow we will continue to work towards building what was stolen.
